Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026 · Effective: June 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Prohuman LLC ("Prohuman," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Matic iPhone app and the getmatic.app website (together, the "Service"). We built Matic to protect your attention, and we treat your data the same way.
The short version: Matic has no user accounts and no Prohuman servers that store your personal data. Your habits, streaks, Time Bank, and the list of apps you choose to block live on your iPhone (and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud). We don't sell or share your data, we don't run ads, and we don't use third-party trackers or analytics SDKs.
1. Who we are (Data Controller)
Prohuman LLC is the controller responsible for the limited processing described in this Policy. You can reach us at privacy@getmatic.app or by mail at 8080 Westpark Drive, STE 97116, Houston, TX 77063. Because Matic stores data on your device rather than on our systems, in most cases we never receive or have access to your personal data at all.
2. Information we process — and what stays on your device
Stored on your device (and your own iCloud, if enabled)
- Habits, completions, streaks, and schedules you create, stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). If you have iCloud enabled, this data may sync across your own Apple devices under your Apple account; that sync is performed by Apple, not by us.
- Your Time Bank balance and sessions, which Matic computes on your device from your own completions.
- Your blocked-app selection, managed by Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. Apple intentionally hides the identity of the specific apps you select — Matic only ever sees an opaque count, never which apps they are. This selection never leaves your device and is never sent to us.
- NFC tag tokens. If you pair an NFC tag with a habit, Matic stores an opaque token used only to recognize that tag. Tags hold no personal information.
- Reminders and notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not transmit data to us.
Processed by Apple, not by us
- App Store transactions and subscriptions. Purchases are handled by Apple. We receive limited, aggregated sales and subscription information from Apple (for example, the number of active subscriptions), not your payment details or identity.
- Optional diagnostics. If — and only if — you opt in to sharing analytics and crash data with developers in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us aggregated diagnostic reports. These are not tied to your identity. You can turn this off any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Website
The getmatic.app website is a static informational site. It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may process standard server logs (such as IP address and request data) for security and to deliver the site; this is a routine, short-lived technical record and is not used to profile you.
3. What we do not do
- We have no accounts, logins, or Prohuman servers storing your habits.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not use third-party advertising, analytics SDKs, or trackers, and Matic does not ask to track you across other apps or websites (no App Tracking Transparency prompt).
- We do not collect or transmit the identities of the apps you block, your location, your contacts, your photos, or your browsing.
- We do not collect biometric identifiers. Face ID / Touch ID authorization is handled entirely by Apple's system — Matic never receives your faceprint, fingerprint, or any other biometric data (Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, Tex. Bus. & Com. Code § 503.001).
4. How we use information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- provide and operate the app's features on your device;
- process and validate your App Store subscription through Apple;
- diagnose crashes and improve the app (only via Apple's opt-in, aggregated diagnostics); and
- comply with law and protect the security and integrity of the Service.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK — GDPR)
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, our legal bases for the limited processing we perform are:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to provide the app and process subscriptions you request;
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to keep the Service secure and working, and to fix crashes, balanced against your rights; and
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for optional diagnostics you choose to share through Apple, which you may withdraw at any time.
6. Your privacy rights
Because your habit data and blocked-app selection live on your device, you are in direct control: you can edit or delete any habit in the app, and deleting the app removes its local data from your iPhone (manage iCloud copies via your Apple ID). For anything you'd like us to do, contact privacy@getmatic.app and we will respond as required by law (generally within 30–45 days).
EEA/UK residents (GDPR)
You have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We do not engage in solely automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
In the preceding 12 months we have not sold or shared your personal information, and we do not collect the statutory categories of personal information on our servers because Matic stores your data on your device. To the extent any limited identifiers or commercial information (such as a subscription record from Apple) are processed, you have the rights to know, access, delete, and correct that information, to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither), to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics), and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. You may submit a request through an authorized agent.
Texas residents (TDPSA)
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (Tex. Bus. & Com. Code Ch. 541), you have the rights to confirm whether we process your personal data and to access it, to correct inaccuracies, to delete it, to obtain a portable copy in a readable format, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell your personal data, your sensitive personal data, or your biometric data, and we do not process personal data for targeted advertising or such profiling — so the sensitive-data and biometric-data sale notices otherwise required by the TDPSA do not apply to us. We honor recognized universal opt-out mechanisms. We will respond to a verified request within 45 days (extendable once by an additional 45 days with notice to you). If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response; if we deny the appeal, you may submit a complaint to the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
Other U.S. state residents
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon, Montana, and others) have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling. We do not engage in any of those activities. To exercise a right, email privacy@getmatic.app. You may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
7. Apple and other third parties
The Service relies on Apple's platform (App Store, iCloud, Screen Time, and diagnostics). Apple processes that information under Apple's own privacy policy and terms. We require any third party that may have access to user data to provide protection at least equal to this Policy and as required by the App Store Review Guidelines. We do not currently use any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-broker services.
8. Data retention
Data stored on your device persists until you delete the relevant habit or delete the app; iCloud copies persist until you remove them via your Apple ID. Aggregated diagnostics provided by Apple are retained only as long as needed to diagnose and fix issues. We do not maintain a central database of your personal data to retain.
9. Data security
Your data benefits from Apple's on-device protections, including device encryption and the Face ID / Touch ID / passcode authorization required to change Screen Time settings. Because we don't centralize your personal data on our own servers, there is no central store to be breached. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but keeping data on your device materially reduces risk.
10. Children's privacy (COPPA)
Matic is a personal self-control tool intended for users 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, is not in the Kids Category, and is not designed to monitor a child's device on behalf of a parent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact privacy@getmatic.app and we will delete it. Where the GDPR applies, the Service is not directed to children under the applicable age of digital consent.
11. International users
Prohuman LLC is based in the United States. Because Matic keeps your data on your device, your personal data generally is not transferred to us. Where Apple syncs your data via iCloud or provides aggregated diagnostics, Apple handles any international transfer under its own safeguards.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service evolves or the law changes. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app or on the website. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
13. Contact us
